Overview
- Symptoms: device does not appear, preview is blank, status does not update, or input format is wrong.
- Likely causes: charge-only USB-C cable, missing supported Desktop Video runtime, Media Express or another app using the device, or HDMI/SDI format mismatch.
Step-by-step guide
- Fix: use a real Thunderbolt cable, install the supported Blackmagic Desktop Video runtime, restart, allow system software if prompted, close Media Express or other video apps, match source format, reopen Kaish Capture, and confirm preview/status.

- Use the correct workspace and product before starting.
- Keep local video files available when playback is needed.
- Use the Share File type that matches the receiving workflow.
