Overview
- Use a Mac with Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4.
- Use Blackmagic UltraStudio Recorder 3G and a real Thunderbolt cable.
- Install the supported Blackmagic Desktop Video runtime and restart the Mac.
- Connect HDMI or SDI from the camera, switcher, or video source.
Step-by-step guide
- Allow Blackmagic system software in System Settings > Privacy & Security if prompted.
- Confirm the device appears in Desktop Video Setup and close Media Express or other apps using the device.
- Match the source format, then open Kaish Capture, choose Live Capture, and confirm preview/status.
Common mistakes / notes
- Use the correct workspace and product before starting.
- Keep local video files available when playback is needed.
- Use the Share File type that matches the receiving workflow.
