Capture Pro

Exporting and File Types

Capture Pro supports several file workflows. Some include media, and some are metadata-only.

Export for advanced workflows

Use Capture Pro export workflows for staff review, presentation workflows, and Kaish ecosystem sharing.

Main file types

  • .kaishcapturepro: main project/package. Media is included only if media has been consolidated or exported with media.
  • .kaishcode: Review Coding project. No video media.
  • .kaishcliphub: standalone Clip Hub file. Metadata-only.
  • .kaishcliphub.json: Clip Hub file-extension alternate. Metadata-only.
  • .kaishclippack: Clip Pack. Metadata-only.
  • Presentation Share File: presentation handoff. Metadata-only.
  • XML: timing/tag exchange. Metadata-only.
  • CSV: Reports and Output Windows. Metadata-only.

Media-included sharing

Use Standalone Package with Media when another Mac needs a self-contained .kaishcapturepro package with media copied into the package. Use Media Manager first if the package references external media that should be copied into the package.

Metadata-only sharing

Use metadata-only exports when the receiver already has media or can relink it: Clip Hub File, Clip Pack, Review Project .kaishcode, Presentation Share File, XML, and CSV.

Metadata-only files preserve references and timing metadata, but they do not copy video media.

Finder behavior and icons

  • .kaishcapturepro opens as a package/project.
  • .kaishcliphub opens/focuses Clips > Clip Hub.
  • .kaishclippack imports into Package Clips after confirmation.
  • .kaishcode is supported through Review Coding Open/Save Project. Finder double-click routing remains a careful future workflow.
  • Generic .json is not taken over by Capture Pro.

Finder may cache document icons. Relaunch Finder or restart macOS if icons do not refresh after installing a new build.
