Capture Pro

FAQ

Common Capture Pro file and workflow questions.

Is Capture Pro a recording app or a review app?

It is both. It records live video, creates tags, reviews existing video, organizes clips, builds presentations, and exports files from one package-backed Mac workflow.

What is the main project file?

The main project file is .kaishcapturepro.

Does a .kaishcapturepro package always include video media?

Not always. A package can reference external media. Use Media Manager to consolidate media into the package, or use Standalone Package with Media when you need a self-contained handoff.

What is .kaishcode?

.kaishcode is the lightweight Review Coding Save/Open Project file. It stores Review tags, timing, notes, labels, segment/video references, and media references. It does not bundle video.

What is the difference between Package Clips and Clip Hub?

Package Clips belong to the active package. Clip Hub is an app-level library that can be reused across packages.

Does Clip Hub include media?

Clip Hub files are metadata-only. Media remains referenced and may need relinking on another Mac.

What should I use for a self-contained share?

Use Standalone Package with Media or Quick Share Segment. Clip Packs, Clip Hub files, XML, CSV, and Presentation Share Files are metadata-only unless the workflow explicitly says media is included.

Are Review rows automatically sent to Package Clips or Clip Hub?

No. Capture Pro uses explicit send/add actions. There is no hidden auto-sync from Review to Package Clips, Presentation Builder, or Clip Hub.

Why are player and on-ice reports empty?

Player and on-ice outputs require rows with player metadata. The app does not invent player participation from generic labels.

Why do document icons still look generic in Finder?

Finder may cache icons. Relaunch Finder or rebuild LaunchServices. If icons still do not appear after a clean installed build, the app may need standalone document icon resources in addition to asset catalog image sets.
